The Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department works cooperatively with three local snowmobile clubs and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to provide scenic snowmobiling opportunities on designated trails. The Rice Creek Snowmobile Trail passes through Rice Creek Chain of Lakes Regional Park Reserve along designated and well-marked routes. The Rum River
Snowmobile Trail travels through the northwest quadrant of Anoka County. The Kiwi Snowmobile Trail passes through a portion of Coon Lake County Park and Martin-Island-Linwood Lakes Regional Park. All snowmobiles are required to stay on the designated trails.
All of the Anoka County snowmobile trails are professionally groomed and maintained by the local
snowmobile clubs. In addition, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources provides financial assistance from the grant-in-aid snowmobile program which is passed through Anoka County to each of the three local snowmobile clubs. Maps of
snowmobile trails are available through the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, from the Parks and Recreation Department at 763-757-3920
